Description for entry: I have a strong tie to rainbow fluorite. I can't entirely explain why. The first time I touched one I knew it had to be mine. It's like a magnet for me. A lot of people are attracted to hematite and amethyst, as well as a variety of other stones. For me is fluorite. I have a lot of good memories with this stone, including dreams. When I look at the colors and hold it an inner calm moves through me. It reminds me of the northern lights and the dreamy display they create for us, as well as images taken by various telescopes. Nebulas, super novas, galaxies...so beautiful. I see these colors and when I look at the fluorite it makes me think of these things.

I designed this piece to have a dreamy effect. The twists and turns are tightly bound, like my tight bond with this particular stone. At the same time the piece is loose and flexible, like dreams. The darker beads reflect the darkness on the edges of our vision as we are captivated by the display created by the northern lights.
