Sun on Bubbles by ChaosFay Sun on Bubbles by ChaosFay
When I sent the glass portion of the pendant to *balthasarcraft I had no idea what she'd do with it. As soon as it I received the finished pendant my mind went only to one place: bubbles. The blue swirl of the glass looks like water when the light bends through bubbles as they rise, the beads are the bubbles, and the gold wire the sunlight. It was just too perfect. I knew instantly that my wave pattern had to be used, but not wide. It had to be kept slim. The waves at the top are gold representing the sunlight moving over the water as the bubbles rise, the blue beads the bubbles. I could go on about this, but it's so obvious I don't think I need to.

Made using COTTON not hemp, glass pearls, glass pendant, gold wire, and seed beads. If memory serve the wire is made completely of gold. I'm not sure. If you're allergic to all metal but gold please talk to *balthasarcraft at her etsy shop about it. She'll be able to tell you what she used.

Yes.  *balthasarcraft made the pendant after I sent her the glass swirly part.  I felt the glass was too plain.  She did her magic on it and created a story with the visual.  I went with what I saw in it, and in turn created this choker.  There's a whole bunch of pieces in my etsy shop that have pendants made by her. We make a good team, I think, and have been in a state of constant trading for over two years now.  I send her supplies and she sends me a few pieces she makes.  :D

I'm amazed how well the elements work together.  It's like it was all originally crafted by one hand.

Hmmm...maybe at some point we should get a brick and mortar shop and sell all our stuff there.  We work so well as a team it just makes sense, ya know?

If you end up moving to southern OR, it'd be a very real possibility!  We could start by sharing booth fees for craft shows!  Just imagine if we could quit our day jobs and spend all day hanging out and selling jewelry!

Oddly enough I was just thinking about this sort of thing today.  I was thinking about all the backstock I still have lying about and wondering if you'd be interested in me just sending some of it to you for free?  And if pieces you make with those pendants sell, you could pay me a smallish percentage (~$15 or something).  I'd get them off my hands, and they'd be a cheap resource for you.

Hmmmm I could send you a few finished necklaces with the use of your pendants so you can sell them in your shop if you'd like.

Well, logically, I was suggesting your shop instead of mine since yours actually has some visibility.  You send your stuff to me and it will take ages for me to sell it, which wouldn't really convenience you :/

Craft shows first, of course.  We'll need to attend and work at Mystic Fest in Omaha, NE every year, though, because it's awesome.  LOL  To how our own brick and mortar shop would just be mindblowing!  I have ideas for it, including offering lessons to those who wanna learn.  No selling supplies, just finished product.  Perhaps bring in other local dA artists' work to put on display in the future.  SO MANY IDEAS!!!

As for your pendants, I recommend putting them in your etsy shop.  Set up sections like I have with earrings, bracelets, even rings.  Make sure to put in a section for low budget items.  That's one of the first places people look regarding jewelry.  I don't have that section anymore.  Instead I have a random stuffs section for keychains and other whatevers.  It took me a couple years to become more successful on etsy, but I also did mad advertising, worked at cons and craft fairs, and was shameless about handing out business cards.  I even set up fliers with pictures on them around my apartment complex with the permission of the property manager.  I used to have a car magnet, but that thing died within six months because of the brutal weather we have here.

Teaching jewelry lessons would be awesome!  I could never make a tutorial for how I wrap, but I could definitely teach people in person with no problem.  And it would be super cool if we could reach out to other DA members in the area.
