I made this piece specifically for the monochrome contest
is holding. Info on the contest here: [link]
This decadent piece is made using real jade chips and a jade pendant, as well as glass pears, acrylic rose beads, and large glass stardust pearls. The cords used are not hemp, but are in fact made of cotton. This makes breaking in the necklace much easier, and without the odor hemp occassionally has.
Properties of jade:
-it is believed, in many cultures, to attract love
-strengthens your mental faculties and assists in clear reasoning
-bring money and wealth into your life
-a protective stone, guarding against accidents and misfortune
- helps the body in self-healing while working through underlying, non-physical reasons for a precipitation for disease
-used also for courage, wisdom, justice, mercy, emotional balance, stamina, love, fidelity, humility, generosity, peace, harmony
Length from end to end: 21.5 in/54 cm
Length from top to bottom: 10.5 in/26 cm
Because of the number of beads and stone in this, well as the intricate design, this piece does carry some weight with it. It is not nearly as heavy as it looks, but it is a little heavier due to the chunkiness in the design. Devart Edit
: The pendant is a very light green jade, and yes, the shirt is green. My camera picked up the perfect green-ness of the necklace, but not the pendant or sure. I assure you it is all green. I've replaced the original picture with the raw version of the picture. My apartment's lighting is horrific and the person holding the contest can't tell if this is monochromatic. O.o So here you go.
