Found a note today stating that they're going to take months upon months, possibly a year, to fix the damned roof and the damages to the rest of the apartment complex. They're not pulling up the carpet yet...so we're going to have mold and mildew like no other here.

I've thrown up once because of the smell. Wet drywall, wet carpet that hasn't been cleaned in weeks, wet carpet on the stairwell that has never been cleaned...you get the picture. It smells disgusting. OMG...and there's no escaping it unless I leave the building. It's 97 degrees outside by noon and then there's the insane humidity...ugh.

Joe and I are applying for a new apartment at an awesome apartment complex just a few blocks away. They only allow people who make less than $32K a year which is no prob...and we get 2x as much square footage, a gym, secured entrances, and all sorts of goodies.

We're also applying for foodstamps. We have no food in the fridge. Only tuna and condiments. Yum. And nearly no food in the cabinets. My dinner for the next few days: hotdogs and beans. Yum...

I talked to my attorney today and she said that in order for us to get my disability hearing pushed up, we'd need an eviction notice or a shut off notice. Hey, no prob! We're there already. So I'll be taking her those notices later this month when we officially recieve them.

I was going to apply for unemployment but since I've hardly worked over the last two years...I'd get damned near nill as far as money.

We're waiting on General Assistance to come through and I'm applying for financial aid for my alegant medical bills. I spent six days at Lasting Hope Recovery Center and my bill is now $11K+ Greeeaaat...I can't pay my electric bill let alone my medical bills!

EDIT: they've started tearing up the carpet on the 7th and 6th floors in front of the elevator. I doubt they'll do that in the stair well though.

My devart avatar/icon thingy is REALLY old and I'm software/computer retarded, so I can't make a new one. As such, I'm holding this contest. All you need to do is create a new avatar/icon thingy for me. Look through my gallery and journals to get some ideas. Questions? Ask away! The contest will open on June 18 and close on August 18.
